School Uniform Drive for Resettled Children

somali-refugeesIf you are from Grand Rapids, MI, here’s an opportunity to help displaced children in your hometown.

SCHOOL UNIFORMS are urgently needed in Grand Rapids as resettled refugee children return to classes without required clothing. If you have a school uniform (or multiple uniforms) that you would like to donate to a resettled child, please send or drop it off at our office: 629 Ionia Ave. SW, Grand Rapids, MI 49503. You may use the front entrance and our receptionist will assist you.

We are also accepting monetary donations that will be used to purchase uniforms for children in need. Donate using the link below, and write “GR school uniforms” in the Notes field.

Uniform clothing needed:

  • Polo or button-down shirts in black, white, navy, light-blue or red
  • Khaki, navy or black pants (no denim, please)

We are working with Bethany Christian Services’ Refugee and Immigrant Services to distribute any donated uniforms to the children who need them most. This will be part of an ongoing drive for school uniforms as the city of Grand Rapids continues to welcome resettled refugee families over the course of the school year and throughout the summer.

Thank you!
