Communications Director

Position: part-time, up to 20 hours/week

The Communications Director for Tent Schools International will manage both print and digital communications for the organization. The right candidate will create and coordinate print and e-mail campaigns, manage our website and social media, participate on TSI’s Development Team to weigh in on fundraising strategies and progress, and work with printing/mailing companies to ensure quality, efficiency and affordability of mailings.

Duties:

  • Write, edit and lay out TSI’s quarterly newsletter and monthly mailings
  • Formulate and send e-mail newsletters and announcements
  • Manage TSI’s website and social media accounts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
  • Assist in creating an annual ad for each year-end campaign
  • Work with printing/mailing companies to ensure a cost-effective, quality product
  • Keep brochures, letterhead, business cards and other communications-related supplies stocked
  • Complete in-house mailings as needed and upon request by members of the Development Team

Skills Required: minimum of two years of experience in the field of communications, journalism or copy writing, excellent written communication skills, organizational skills, copy editing skills, detail-orientation, basic design and lay-out skills, process management, problem-solving abilities

Skills Preferred: Adobe InDesign, Constant Contact, Microsoft Office, WordPress, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Google Adwords, Google Analytics
