Vision Trips: step into a different world.
Ready to learn more about Vision Trips with Tent Schools International? Here’s what you need to know.
Vision Trips are a combined mission and tourism program in Jordan.
Join us for a unique experience that combines a meaningful mission trip with an exciting tourism adventure in Jordan. This program allows you to make a difference and explore the beautiful country of Jordan in one trip!
- How long is each trip? Each trip is just over one week, including travel: six days in-country and up to two days en route. The time difference between U.S. Eastern time and Jordan is seven hours.
- Is there cultural training involved before we go? Yes! Tent Schools International provides virtual and in-person cultural trainings as part of the Vision Trip package, led by our team coordinator, Rawan Haddad.
- How big are the teams? You’ll travel in a group of four, seven, or 12 individuals, depending on the level of interest in a particular year.
- When do trips happen? Teams go in summer, when many travelers choose to take vacation time. Marka Education Center runs year-round, so you won’t miss time with students.
- What will we do? We’ve included a sample itinerary below. Keep in mind that trips are flexible and details are subject to change when there is agreement between hosts and travelers.
- Who will host us? Our trips are facilitated by our partner organization, Sense of Community, and its travel agency, the ministry behind Marka Education Center in Amman. While there, your team will stay in a high-quality hotel for the majority of your stay, with the possibility of one overnight at Wadi Rum.
- Do I need travel insurance? Yes. Jordan is currently a safe destination in the Middle East, but in case of a shift in current events, travel insurance is highly recommended.
- What’s the cost of traveling on a Vision Trip? We have an eye toward affordability but without compromising the quality of your experience. Contact our Vision Trip coordinator, Rawan Haddad, for details on your cost to travel on a Vision Trip.
