Ukrainian teachers equipped to serve a growing school

TSI donors funded technology for Academy of Wisdom in Bucha, Ukraine, supporting ten new staff members as they serve a growing student body in north-central Ukraine.

Academy of Wisdom in Bucha, Ukraine has experienced remarkable growth over the past year with additions of 42 new students followed by 28 new teachers hired to meet the school’s growing needs.

In early 2025, Principal Iryna Steshyts reached out to Tent Schools International for urgently needed laptops for new staff, and reinforcements for the school’s on-site bomb shelter as the Bucha community continues to brace itself for ongoing missile strikes from Russia.

Amount was just enough for laptops and shelter fortifications

TSI was able to respond quickly with funding from the 2024 year-end campaign that had been targeted for Ukraine by donors. The amount fully covered the laptops and shelter fortifications almost to the dollar.

“Thanks to you, we were able to buy ten laptops for teachers and also concrete blocks to equip our shelter, wrote Steshyts. “These are such important things right now. This contribution is more than just a number. It is a manifestation of true kindness, humanity and faith in the future.” •
